EIGHT

is the number of miles I ran today. So far that's the farthest I've ever ran! The last mile was difficult. I had a side stitch and my legs felt so heavy. But I kept going. I kept thinking about Don and how he and Jo Ann got up early to watch the boys so both Kevin and I could run. I could tell Don didn't feel well. I can't even begin to imagine the pain he lives with every day, or what he wouldn't give to go out at 7 am and run 8 miles in 30 degrees. So yes my legs hurt and my knees make funny noises when I go up the stairs and I'm exhausted like first trimester pregnant exhausted, but I'll run again tomorrow. And I may run in pain but I'll put a smile on my face and run because Don cannot run right now.

And it makes me so proud to be running for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They are some of the best people you'll every meet. I pray all of our hard work pays off and the scientists find a cure for blood cancers!!
